I show little understanding of the topic or theme. My work is not detailed enough and needs more background information. My creative writing shows little use of imagination or feeling. My response to literature shows some understanding of the way the author writes.
5-6
I show understanding of the topic or theme. My work is detailed and has enough background information. My creative writing shows the use of feeling and imagination. My response to literature shows understanding of the way the author writes.
7-8
I show good understanding of the topic or theme. My work shows a good use of details and background information. In my writing I use my imagination and feeling in a good way. My response to literature shows good understanding of the way the author writes.
